Slow Train

Sometimes, a journey can be as interesting as the destination. While trains these days tend to emphasise speed, there was a time when the ride itself was a highlight: the crowds at the station, the boarding, the random humanity, the panoramic vista, the buffet coach with meals cooked by chefs who boarded from rural stations. Once available across the board, this type of UX is now seen only on ultra luxury services.

The first video gives a glimpse of the UX we were referring to, from Casino Royale. The second showcases the exclusive Shikishima train service.
