Datuk Seri Dr Govindan (left, top photo) is Group CEO and Executive Director of RAM Holdings. His previous position was Deputy Director General of the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) in the Prime Minister’s Department with responsibilities that covered the National Economic Council and promotion of private investment.

His career in the EPU during the 1975-2011 period has been mainly on development economics involving the preparation of several of Malaysia’s Five Year Development Plans, the National Economic Recovery Plan of 1998 and several economic stimulus packages. He has also served as Secretary of the National Economic Action Council (NEAC) created under the Prime Minister to manage the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis; and later the National Economic Council.

Dr Govindan currently sits on the Boards of Malaysian Investment Development Board (MIDA), Malaysia Property Incorporated (MPI), and is Chairman of Bond Pricing Agency of Malaysia.

He holds a B. Econs(H) from University of Malaya, Masters and PhD in Economics from Lancaster University, UK, LLB(H) from University of London, and a Certificate in Advanced Management from INSEAD, Paris.
