In this talk, Sir Terry Farrell will set out his philosophy for city making in an era of rapid globalisation, climate change and population growth. Sir Terry will also be introducing his new book “The City as a Tangled Bank: Urban Design versus Urban Evolution”.

Sir Terry Farrell CBE is considered to be the UK’s leading architect planner, with offices in London, Hong Kong and Shanghai. During 40 years in practice he has completed many award-winning buildings and masterplans including the MI6 and Home Office Headquarters for the UK government as well as major cultural buildings such as The Deep Aquarium and Royal Institution of Great Britain.

Sir Terry is the Mayor of London’s Design Advisor, he advises the Department for Transport on high speed rail, and is Design Champion for the Thames Gateway, Europe’s largest regeneration project.
