The Malaysian Government is scheduled to implement the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in April 2014. Working in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and the Royal Malaysian Customs, the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers is organising a GST seminar. The two-day seminar will be conducted by the senior officers of the Royal Malaysian Customs Department. Topics:
  • Overview: differences between GST and Sales Tax 
  • Accounting: tax invoices, credit and debit notes, payments, returns, refunds, input credit mechanism
  • Special Schemes: Approved Traders Scheme, Approved Toll Manufacturers Scheme, Warehousing Scheme. 
  • Transition: stocks at hand, special refund, sales tax refund, goods treatment 
  • Manufacturers: transfer of business, warranty, samples, internet sales, hire purchase
  • Preparation: modification to accounting system, billing, invoicing etc.
