Asia has come a long way since the Asian Financial Crisis exploded in 1998. For the last 10 years, led by China, most of Asia has experienced breakneck growth which has helped to lift economic expansion in the rest of the world.

However, the growth has started to show signs of slowing down in the face of expectations that QE3 could be withdrawn and of continuing recession in Europe. Asia now needs a new growth strategy in order to maintain its continuing need to grow, including finding means and measures to minimise the pain resulting from economic reforms. This is a herculean task for all in Asia and Malaysia is no exception.
