The seminar will provide participants with the legal knowledge and information necessary to develop and implement programmes that will effectively prevent catastrophic losses brought on by recalls and product liability lawsuits, along with the bad publicity that follows; insights and expectations about the role of corporate representatives and preparation for trial; the latest safety and compliance issues affecting product designers and manufacturers including advice in handling the issues.

Product liability laws cover consumer and commercial goods as well as goods used at the workplace. In some situations, poorly performed services may also give rise to a claim for breach of contract. If someone is injured by a defective product or suffers loss or damage to private property, they can sue for damages. Both the producers and distributors can also face prosecution if they offer unsafe products for sale to the public. Even if it has not caused any damage or injury, the producers can be prosecuted for placing unsafe products on the market. It takes specific training in this field for manufacturers to understand how to prepare themselves to face this contingency.
