Kuala Lumpur is taking part in the NASA Space Apps Challenge for the first time! The International NASA Space Apps Challenge is a two-day hackathon where teams of technologists, scientists, designers, artists, educators, entrepreneurs, developers and students across the globe collaborate and engage with publicly available data to design innovative solutions for global challenges.

[SpaceApps is a NASA (US National Aeronautics and Space Administration) incubator innovation program. This KL/Cyberjaya event is in collaboration with UnlockDesign and Cyberview. The global 2015 winners were:
  • YT Best Use of Data - Natural language processing and tagging of data (USA)
  • YT Best Use of Hardware - Smart glove for gesture & voice recognition (Bul)
  • YT Best Mission Concept - Bee drone for small cargo transport (Cyprus)
  • YT Galactic Impact - Robot bottle to gather real time data about crops (Italy)
  • YT Most Inspirational - Turn an Android phone into a robot (Nepal)
  • YT People's Choice - 3D, crowdsourced, satellite earth navigator (Kosovo)]
