Wish [ iOS | Droid ] was launched by Google veteran Peter Szulczewski and Yahoo! veteran Danny Zhang in 2011. As mobile users scroll through a never-ending array of products, they have two options: ‘buy,’ or ‘save.’ Either way, users are providing Wish with valuable information to tailor their personalized list of offerings better. The company, based in San Francisco, charges merchants a 15% transaction fee, and the scale of its network is apparently enough to keep retailers on board. [Source: BI]. According to the event organizer, Wish:
  • Ranked the best shopping app by Google in 2014
  • Ranked No 1 mobile e-commerce application in North-America in 2014
  • Reached 1 billion users in 2014
  • 95% of users are from Europe and North-America
[1: The event could be an Internet Alliance members only event. If you register as a non-member, check for further instructions from the organizer.]
