[PSA] Cashless Tolls & Waste Sorting

[Public Service Announcement] In Malaysia, fully cashless tolls for major highways starts on September 9th and waste separation to commence from today, September 1st. September is the start of autumn in the North. Time to finish stuff before the onset of winter.


Fully Cashless Tolls
From: Wednesday, September 9, 2015 [Next Wednesday]

Kuala Lumpur
  • AKLEH: Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway
  • DUKE: Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway
  • ECE: Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway
  • SMART: Kuala Lumpur-Taman Desa Tunnel
  • FHR2: Federal Highway Route 2 (Cashless since April 2015)
Penang & Kedah
  • PLUS: Penang Bridge
  • BKE: Butterworth-Kulim Expressway
Thai Border
  • PLUS: North-South Expressway (PLUS): Jitra & Bukit Kayu Hitam tolls



Waste Sorting
From: Tuesday, September 1, 2015 [Today]

Sort waste into four bags:
  • Paper: newspaper, cardboard, drnk cartons Blue Bag
  • Plastics: Plastic bottles, bags and packaging White Bag
  • Hardware: Tins, electronic waste, fabric, metal Green Bag
  • Kitchen: Kitchen waste, wet and un-recyclable items Black Bag

The black bag is collected twice a week, the other bags once a week. [Note: We have not been able to determine the official colour of the kitchen waste bag. The black colour is a guesstimate. Ref: SortingTolls.]
