Hubud, in partnership with Next Bank, Breaking Banks and DBS, has launched a challenge to design an ethical bank (not the building, but the concept). It's a three-week gig for anyone that feels cheated by their bank and wants to design something loads better. The challenge is to come up with a sound concept to get into a three- month FinTech accelerator programme in Singapore in May.

After years of pushing products on unsuspecting customers, it’s time for a new, ethical bank that cares about the community. We want to make banking understandable again and break down every stupid, outdated structure that exists today. We want to create a bank that actually helps consumers and small businesses with their finances.

We love people like Dave Fishwick, the English entrepreneur that has started a ‘challenger bank’ in Burnley where he pays no bonuses, rents his bank’s office for £175 a week and personally visits the customers he lends to. Are you someone that has worked in a bank with loads of ideas? Or a concerned citizen that wants to be part of something better, more ambitious? Join the Startup Bank Challenge Bali!
