As part of the government’s effort to raise awareness and support social entrepreneurship in Malaysia, the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) has been mandated to support this sector through a dedicated unit and a fund of 20 million ringgit in order to help social entrepreneurs make a beneficial societal and environmental impact.

MaGIC Social Enterprise Blueprint
To achieve this, MaGIC Social Enterpreneurship unit has been engaging with multiple partners and stakeholders in the social enterprise sector in order to understand the different challenges, opportunities and assistance needed by our social entrepreneurs.

This Friday MaGIC Social Entrepreneurship will be launching its Social Enterprise Blueprint with the public where we will share our strategy and initiatives to support social entrepreneurship in Malaysia as mandated by the government. The Social Enterprise Blueprint will be the foundation of how we intend to raise the profile of social entrepreneurship and cultivate the industry with our strategic initiatives.

Amplify Award & Finding Malaysia’s 250 Everyday Heroes
In conjunction with the launch of MaGIC Social Enterprise Blueprint, we would also be announcing the first few recipients of the Amplify Award. The Amplify Award is an initiative by MaGIC Social Entrepreneurship to help Malaysian social entrepreneurs to pilot their idea and scale up their organization’s impact.

Also during this event, we will also be launching our campaign of “Finding Malaysia’s 250 Everyday Heroes” where we would like to identify and showcase inspiring individuals who are making a positive impact in our community. Throughout the year of 2015, we would like to encourage the public to actively participate in this campaign by nominating deserving individuals.
