Speaker Dr. Muhamad Chatib Basri is Minister of Finance, Republic of Indonesia. He was the Special Advisor to Minister of Finance from 2006 to 2010, Indonesian Sherpa for the G-20 in 2008 and Deputy Minister of Finance for the G-20 from 2006 to 2010.

Dr. Chatib has taught at the University of Indonesia, is the founder of CReco Research Institute, and later became the Vice Chairman of the National Economic Committee. He was a commissioner at several public companies including Axiata Group Bhd (Malaysia) and a consultant for various international organisations such as the World Bank, USAID, AUSAID, OECD, UNCTAD and Asian Development Bank.
