Data sets are getting massive and becoming more widely available through the Internet. Big data offers journalists a new resource for telling stories, provided journalists can find the key facts and represent data in a way that still respects journalism codes of practice. Topics:
  • How is big data changing journalism?
  • Who is, or should be, involved with data journalism?
  • What skills are needed for data journalism?
  • What will be the wider societal effects of data journalism?
The format for this event is to have each panelist present for 10-15 minutes. This will then be followed by a moderated Q&A session.Our panelists will be:
