This is the biggest TEDx event since the Singapore chapter was founded in 2009 with the greatest number and diversity of speakers and musicians ever platformed: Geopolitical expert Parag Khanna, local food blogger Leslie Tay, Ghurka story photographer Zakaria Zainal, passionate educators, jazz composing mathematician, technology entrepreneurs, scientists, storytellers, and  surprises.

TEDMED 2009: Medical Miracle on Everest

A surgeon and mountain climber, who was on top of Everest when a ferocious rogue storm stranded dozens of climbers, talks about the case of one climber who survived the storm against impossible odds. The climber, Beck Weathers, had collapsed in the snow, lying catatonic for days in lethal weather, until his thoughts of his family compelled him to stand and find his way back to camp. [Gripping tale! The video slows down at the 'brain scan' section but do try to watch till the end.]
