In this Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah Distinguished Speakers Series lecture Professor Wang Gungwu will be sharing his thoughts about what has transpired during the post-imperial period in China and where China may be heading.

Professor Wang Gungwu is Professor, National University of Singapore and the Chairman of the East Asian Institute. He is also Emeritus Professor of the Australian National University. He is a Commander of the British Empire (CBE); Fellow, and former President, of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Science; Member of Academia Sinica; Honorary Member of the Chinese Academy of Social Science. From 1986 to 1995, he was Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong.
