Reinventing Fire shows how to run a 2.6x-bigger US economy in 2050 with no oil, no coal, no nuclear energy, one-third less natural gas, and a $5-trillion lower net-present-value private internal cost than business-as-usual—the transition requiring no new inventions and no Act of Congress, but led by business for profit.

To get this result, we integrate all four energy-using sectors—transport, buildings, industry, and electricity—and four kinds of innovation: not just the usual two (technology and public policy) but also two more powerful ones normally neglected, namely design and business strategy.
