Science Café is an event where scientists and Science professionals speak in a casual setting where everyone can learn and discuss the scientific issues of the day. This month's topic is on viruses: what are viruses, how they evolve, what they do and how they spread throughout the world. Gayathri Manokaran is a third year PhD student at the DUKE-NUS graduate medical school. Her interest in viruses was sparked off in secondary school when her Biology teacher showed the movie “Outbreak”.
